SilencerCo released a shorter, lighter version of the Specwar product line - the Specwar K 556. This suppressor was designed to meet a military requirement that emphasized shortest overall length more than sound reduction. SilencerCo is now opening this model up for commercial sale.

"Our goal with the K version of the Specwar was to create the shortest and lightest hearing-safe 5.56mm silencer available," noted Josh Waldron, CEO of SilencerCo. "This K version of the Specwar will still carry our lifetime warranty and can be used for full auto fire on barrel lengths down to 7 inches."

SilencerCo tested the K versions on 11 inch, 14.5 inch and 16 inch 5.56mm barrels with 62 grain M855 ball ammunition with a range of results from 137 to 140 dB.
